Hi Geoff. I was about to wish you and all those concerned with Denton FC a very Happy Christmas and success in 2011 but was saddened by the news of the death of Jack Fricker. I played with Jack in the late fifties, for Bradford Parish FC, and remember him very well. My condolences to his family and all those that were close to him.
Hope that we shall meet for a chat sooner than later and best wishes to you all.

Hi Geoff. Cannot believe I am following Denton FC after all those years with Bradford Parish and to see you performing so well brings back many memories as we had many successful years, you only have to ask "Old Cornie". If you win the championship can you organise a celebration in the Saheb Restaurant and I will visit you from Spain, that is a promise, so keep your boys´on their toes.
Best wishes.

Yes it is me again Geoff. I just want to wish you and Denton FC the best of luck for the coming season. It has given me so much pleasure making contact with you and receiving the "book" and has made an old man very happy. I have made contact with Stephen Howard here in Spain but unfortunately he is not just around the corner, thanks for letting me know his details.
It would give me great pleasure having a pie and a pint one day and chatting about the old days.
Kind regards

Hi Geoff, I received A Town Like Parish this morning and even missed my normal siesta as I could not put it down, absolutely brilliant. Congratulations to you and all those involved with the publication. (You may by now have received my chegue as I posted it a few days ago).
On a personal note I have a bonus with the book as there are pictures of my old bosses, Walter S. Williamson and George H. Gronnow. If you remember I worked for them for 15 years, from the age of 17, even Walter’s signature brings back memories. I sincerely hope that members old and new have had as much pleasure from the "book" as I have had.
It was also great to see pictures of the Stringers, Robinsons and Cornforth’s etc etc. and of course not forgetting Brian’s dad and John Walsh
If you have the e-mail address of Stephen Howard please let me know as he lives in Spain and maybe, just maybe he could be living a few miles away from me here in Nerja. I do not know Stephen but we certainly have something in common.
I apologise but I do not recall playing in the same side as you, if you can bring anything to mind I would be very grateful.

Good luck next year with Denton FC

Regards and once again congratulations.

I am presently in Qatar with my wife visiting our daughter and grandaughter hoping that the volcano ash business will be over and done with so we can return to Spain where we have lived for the past 9 years. I spent many years with the old Bradford Parish F.C. mainly in the 2nd team but was envious of the skills of Brian Robinson, Alan Cornforth and Brian Stringer etc. The photograph sent to you was in 1959 and I do hope that some of the team are still around the area to glance at the ugly bunch and to bring back memories, I certainly have still got fond thoughts of the guys involved. In those days I lived in Cheadle cycled to Mellands, played football, cycled back them went bopping in the evening, nowadays I can just keep awake to watch Match of the Day.
Have a great evening, have a pint on me as I am struggling to get a drink here in Qatar.
